Swanage itself has much to offer holiday makers, with individual shops, cafes, pubs and, of course, the famous Swanage steam railway which runs to the NT village of Corfe Castle. Within just a short walk you can be on the spectacular Dorset coastal path and Dulston Country Park with wonderful views of Anvil point lighthouse. Along the coast from Swanage is NT Studland with lovely coastline and good beaches, from here you can get the ferry across Poole harbour to Sandbanks. Nearby is the ever popular Monkey World and The Tank Museum which make great family days out. The market town of Wareham with its quayside is just a short drive away as is the RSPB nature reserve at Arne.
