This exceptional former mill owner’s home dating back some 200 years boasts generous holiday accommodation and is furnished to a good standard, set of the edge of the National Trust Marsden Moor Estate within 3<frac>1/2</frac> acres of gardens and grounds and beautiful views across the moors and valley. Crow Hill is situated in a beautiful rural location yet within minutes of Marsden village which boasts a lively jazz festival in October and excellent links by both road and rail. During the 90 years Crow Hill was in the ownership of the Firth family, textile mill owners in Marsden. Samuel Firth was also president of the legendary Huddersfield Choral Society and hosted house guests at Crow Hill including General William Booth (founder of the Salvation Army), the composer Ralph Vaughan Williams and the conductor Sir Malcom Sargent. More recently, Crow Hill has undergone a restoration and now offers a fine, period accommodation and a central base from which to visit all this lovely area has to offer. Excellent walks from the door with footpath to Marsden Moor. Marsden and the local area was used as a TV location for ‘Where The Heart Is’ and the surrounding countryside may well be seen in ‘Last of the Summer Wine’.
