It is also convenient for many diverse attractions and places of interest, including the city of York, 13 miles, where there is some excellent shopping, museums, city walls, the minster and numerous attractions. Golf and riding are available locally and there is racing at York, Thirsk and Ripon. Easingwold, 3 miles, is a picturesque Georgian market town with good shopping, restaurants and pubs. There is a local pub/restaurant serving good food, and where children are welcome, and tennis is available in village. Shop 2 miles, pub 1/2 mile.
