Tuesday morning is without doubt the best time to visit. The market holds a fascinating insight into rural Devon. Here you will find local farmers bidding for poultry and small animals. There are also stalls selling local produce, plants and crafts. This is not a tourist attraction - it is the real Devon and should not be missed. Ideal base to explore Devon and Cornwall. Bude, the nearest seaside resort is within 18 miles, for popular surfing beach, leisure activities, family attractions and shops. Dartmoor National Park is within easy driving distance for keen walkers and bird and nature lovers.
