There is riding and coarse fishing 5 miles away, and at Dawlish Warren, 5½ miles, there is a 500-acre natural bird sanctuary, where you can see thousands of birds on land and overhead; the farm itself is also home to many different species, including the nationally rare cirl bunting. Within a 10 mile radius there are two race courses, picturesque villages and fishing harbours, sandy coves and the high moorlands of Dartmoor. The Roman City of Exeter, approximately 15 miles.
