This idyllic part of South Cornwall has much to offer visitors, including a picturesque coastal walk leading to St Anthony Head, with its superb views of Falmouth and the Black Rock. St Mawes itself abounds with restaurants, pubs and shops, and its clover-leaf shaped castle, built by Henry VIII, is well worth a visit. In summer there are boat trips up the river, passing through beautiful wooded creeks.
