In an unspoilt and fairly unknown rural part of Devon - located on the Bere Peninsula, near Bere Ferrers - is a tiny hamlet of Hewton. Nestling in a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the rolling fields that run down to the Tamar Estuary, this area has a microclimate all of its own, and nurserymen have grown their flowers in these warm and sunny fields for decades. This little cluster of superbly appointed properties are a real credit to the owners. From the gardens there are the most spectacular views towards the river down in the valley sparkling in the sun, where yachts lie moored. The owners&rsquo; formal garden is beautifully landscaped and is home to many unusual and exotic plants, a large koi pond and large, mature trees. The <strong>outdoor heated swimming-pool</strong> is surrounded by teak decking and there are sunloungers and garden furniture for guests to laze away days by the pool. There is a large field towards the bottom of the gardens, and a mature, wooded valley where birdlife is abundant and where badgers come out of the woods at sunset and play in the fields.
