Set in the heart of the New Forest National Park and on a New Forest track with wonderful open views over the Forest, this thatched holiday cottage is perfectly located. The ever-popular town of Brockenhurst lies just a short walk away, with its pubs, restaurants and shops. A charming property, The Thatched Cottage dates back 200 years and is finished to a very high standard - with many personal touches to make it feel a real home from home, such as its two wood burning stoves, large well-fitted kitchen, and living room with a reception room where guests can read a book or play a game. The well-kept large cottage garden is a joy, and provides a real haven in which to relax. There is also a paddock for ball games. There is access from the garden into the forest, with its miles of beautiful walks available; or alternatively the surrounding area can be explored by car or bicycle - discovering some of the appealing villages and gardens such as Exbury and Fuzey. There is lots for the family to enjoy including Marwell Zoological Park, Bucklers Hard or a day out at Beaulieu Motor Museum. Slightly further afield, but well worth a trip, is Monkey World and the Tank Museum near Wool. For history buffs, a day out in Portsmouth is a real treat, where HMS Warrior, Victory and Mary Rose can be visited; or Southampton with its maritime history and West Quay shopping centre. There are Blue Flag beaches at Hayling Island, Bournemouth and Sandbanks Poole, all within an easy drive.
