These two adjoining properties date back to the 1400s and are located on the edge of the village of Mitcheldean. Set within a wonderful courtyard layout, they have a quiet garden with views towards the bracken covered hills behind the village, which offer some beautiful walks to either side of the holiday property. The parish and town of Mitcheldean is positioned on the uppermost edge of the Forest of Dean, 10 miles from Gloucester and 20 miles from Bristol, with two pubs, carvery, late shop and off licence, family run butcher, fruit and veg shop, two takeaways, library and doctor&rsquo;s surgery. The Royal Forest of Dean, Vale of Leadon and Wye Valley offer some excellent opportunities to see the typical English countryside at its best. The Forest of Dean is a designated National Forest Park and is steeped in history from ancient megalithic sites through to the industrial revolution and coal mining of the 20th-century. The Wye Valley offers numerous outdoor activities such as canoeing, fishing and the Severn Valley, through which flows the country&rsquo;s longest river, famous for its tidal bore, Blaisdon plums, Perry pears.
