This holiday cottage, one of a pair, was the former Wadebridge girls and infants school. Originally a Quaker meeting house and in its oldest parts up to 200 years old, the Old Girls School is a spacious and comfortable property. It enjoys large rooms and high ceilings, retaining many original details including feature arched windows throughout and a vaulted ceiling with exposed beams in the living area. Set in a commanding position over the historic town of Wadebridge, the cottage has a large landscaped garden to the rear with views across the town and countryside beyond, and a lawn and patio area that is ideal for barbecues and outside dining. The living room features a wood-burning stove and the spacious master bedroom has a galleried landing and en-suite bathroom. The kitchen with its breakfast table is well fitted and has a cottage feel to it. Within a short walk is the ancient stone bridge crossing into the small market town of Wadebridge with its array of shops, restaurants and pubs. Guests can also access the Camel Trail from Wadebridge (cycle hire available in the town) and cycle either to Padstow, along the banks of the Camel Estuary, with an abundance of birds and wildlife, or along the disused railway line to Bodmin with its historic jail. This holiday cottage is ideally situated for many of North Cornwall&rsquo;s seaside towns and villages, including Port Isaac (used in the TV series <em>Doc Martin</em>), Boscastle and Tintagel, the mythical home of King Arthur. Also within easy reach are the beautiful beaches of Rock, Polzeath, Trevone, Harlyn and Constantine Bay. Padstow is easily accessed and offers many shops, pubs and restaurants, including Rick Stein&rsquo;s famous seafood restaurant.
